We started by swapping out the existing couch with an extra wide sectional sofa for ample seating. Because the room does not get a lot of natural sunlight, we went with a light taupe to blend with the room and make the space feel open, light and airy. The distressed velvet upholstery is great for this family of 5 because it is durable and machine washable.

Over the sofa, we chose an extra large statement piece to ground the space. The art also gave us inspiration for the room’s color palate of muted pinks, blues and greens.

To make the space personal, we made sure to incorporated family photos, family heirlooms and other pieces that spoke to the personality and interest of the clients.
