MANILA PROJECT: kitchen

Nothing is more satisfying than an incredible kitchen transformation. The kitchen of our Manila Project was poorly constructed, with strange angles, and colors that felt in conflict with the rest of the house.

We wanted to give this kitchen a facelift! We started with large graphic tiles on the floor to make a statement. Because the floors were so bold, we kept the other elements in the room more subtle and traditional. We chose simple shaker style doors for the cabinets and painted the lower cabinetry a moody gray, Cyberspace by Sherwin Williams, to ground the space. To keep ensure the space was light and bright, we painted the upper cabinetry Dove White by Sherwin Williams, chose a durable white quartz for the countertops, and a timeless white subway tile for the backsplash. Brass pulls and wood accents give the room warmth as well as a modern vintage vibe. The end result… a fun, modern update that stayed true to the traditional style of this Craftsman home.
